Lennart Vandewaetere
Lennart Vandewaetere is pleased to welcome you
to experience the tactile and luminous qualities of a
new series of standing and table lamps. His creative
process consists of folding and assembling by hand,
sensing different translucent materials. You are invited
to experience the drawings and other graphic material
that accompanies Lennart’s creative process.
For the first time, he will also publicly present a
selection of aluminium lamps he developed in the past.
As an architect, Lennart approaches furniture from a
technical and manufacturable perspective. Elements
that already exist and are familiar to everyone are his
inspiration, and the uniqueness of each design comes
from the way he brings these elements together.
Searching for the right junction is crucial in proportion
and composition, resulting in simple, functional, and
economical designs.
Lennart Vandewaetere (1990, Ghent) graduated cum
laude as an architect from KU Leuven Faculty of
Architecture (Sint-Lucas Campus Ghent) in 2014.
He has gained practical experience as an architect at
Dierendonckblancke architecten and noAarchitecten.
In recent years he has been an independent architect
for ‘wissel architectuur studio’, a collective he
founded in 2017 with Felix Schiettecatte and Marius
Vaneeckhoutte.
Since 2019 he has been teaching as an assistant in
architectural design at the KU Leuven Faculty of
Architecture Campus Ghent and Brussels.
