Mathis Esnault is a visual artist and glassblower based in Strasbourg, France. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Rennes and the European Centre for Research and Training in Glass Art (CERFAV). His artistic practice lies at the intersection of sculpture, performance, and writing. The materials he uses and the creative processes he employs actively contribute to the narratives he constructs, in which mutual aid, collections gathered during his walks, and gradual accumulations intertwine.

Through fictional quests across the territories he traverses, Mathis pays close attention to non-human life on the margins: wild plants, neglected species, and abandoned landscapes. His practice seeks to reveal the hidden powers of what is considered fragile, strange, or outside the norm, and to propose alternative ways of inhabiting the world grounded in metamorphosis, protection, and coexistence.

In these hybrid worlds, he develops a practice in which the body fully participates in both the creative process and the narrative. Throughout his adventures, transformations occur: body and matter evolve as he moves between the figures of the creature, the storyteller, and the alchemist. In this way, he imagines and crafts tools, accessories, and adornments that accompany exploration and become extensions of a body in transformation.

On Sunday 8/11 and 13/12, from 3 to 6pm.

Delphine Mertens (they) is a Feldenkrais practitioner, movement pedagogue, facilitator, and performance artist.

Living with a chronic illness for over fifteen years, Delphine has explored a wide range of body-based and somatic practices. Their work investigates how human beings relate to and are shaped by their inner and outer environments, as well as by the futures we collectively imagine, weave, and fight for.

After years of involvement in social and environmental justice movements, Delphine has increasingly focused on sharing care-based practices and fictional tools that support the creation of more desirable futures. Queer ecology, consent-based methodologies, and trauma-informed practices are central to their research and facilitation.

For more than eight years, Delphine has accompanied a group of women experiencing social isolation in Charleroi through movement, body-based, and creative practices. They have also been part of the Mana collective, offering fascia and Feldenkrais sessions in Mona with Waka Up ASBL.
